Home made produce

We are a small farm and therefore can take greater care in what we produce and how we produce it.

The farm runs a small herd of Saddle-back sows, a flock of ewes, beef cattle and laying hens. Our own meat is slaughtered locally and sold in our farm shop which opened in May 2002. We also grow barley, which is fed to the animals here on the farm, as well as a wide spaniety of organic vegetables.

Our home-reared range of organic meat, eggs and vegetables includes:

1. Free range organic eggs.
2. Organic pork
3. Organic lamb
4. Organic beef
5. Home made sausages and burgers.
6. Smoked dry cured and Wiltshire cure bacon and hams.
7. Seasonal fresh vegetables picked daily to supply the shop.
8. Home made pies and pastries.
9. Organic vegetables picked daily to supply the shop.

Our extensive range of food and drink products from other local and fair-trade producers includes:

1. Beautiful organic flour milled at Burcott Mill near Wells, Somerset. We also stock Spelt flour grown at Sharpham Park near Glastonbury and also milled at Burcott Mill.
2. Ermie and Gerties delicious ice cream, apple juice and cider, all made in the village.
3. Somerset cheeses and farmhouse butter. including Keen’s, Maryland and Godminster, all Somerset Cheddars, Village Green, Hard Goats Cheddar and Gevrik goats’ cheeses, Somerset Brie and Exmoor Blue.
4. Apples, pears and soft fruit in season, chiefly supplied by Charlton Orchards, near Taunton.
5. Beer, wine, ciders and apple juice, all made in the county of Somerset. We stock Burrow Hill cider, Kingsdon Black and Somerset Pomona from Kingsbury Episcopi,as well as a range of excellent beers from the RCH Brewery at Weston Super Mare. We also have a wide range of organic fruit wines from Avalon Vineyard at East Pennard.
6. Rose Farm pickles and preserves, from Wedmore.
7. A wide range of Fairtrade tea, coffee, pasta, rice, chocolate, sugar...
8. A range of delicious organic breads and pastries, made by Somervilles in our own village of Pitney.
